The Clark Conservation District was formed in 1942 and is a legal sub-division of state government that administers programs to conserve natural resources. We are self-governed by volunteers who establish priorities and set policy. The district supervisors are not paid, but direct the expertise of district employees working in partnership with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).

The district gets funding from grants and from the annual plant sale.
The Clark Conservation District promotes conservation through Best Management Practices (BMPs).

Conservation districts are the state’s only grass-roots, conservation delivery system that identify problems and guide solutions voluntarily.

Assessment News

Clark Conservation District is in the process of acquiring stable funding, in the form of an assessment of $5.00 per parcel, to be initiated in 2009. To do this, we need to show that we have the support of citizens, local agencies, tribes, and organizations . Click here to learn more about the assessment and how you can contribute your input.
